About the Role
1. Identification of Children with Visual Impairment:
● Conduct surveys and outreach activities to identify 15 children with blindness in or around Karauli District, Rajasthan
● Collaborate with local, government, non-profit and other organizations to enhance the identification process.
2. Mentor Appointment and One-on-One Training:
● Appoint mentors for one-on-one training sessions with children at their homes.
● Coordinate mentorship schedules and ensure timely training.
3. Mentor’s Training:
● Develop and conduct training programs for appointed mentors.
● Provide ongoing support and resources to mentors to enhance their capabilities.
4. Field Visits:
● Conduct regular field visits to monitor the progress of the program.
● Provide feedback and guidance to mentors based on field observations.
5. Documentation:
● Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of program activities, including participant information and mentorship records.
● Ensure all documentation is archived to ensure that these are easily accessible for audit.
Requirements
● Bachelor’s or master’s degree in special education (specialization in Visual Impairments preferred) or any other equivalent degree.
● Experience (0-5 years) in program coordination, especially in the context of visual impairment or disability programs.
● Strong organizational and project management skills.
● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
● Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
● Proficiency in Hindi and English.
● Sensitivity to cultural diversity and appreciation for challenges faced by individuals with visual impairments.
